About us

Our story. Your next chapter.

Support that comes from people who've lived it: the fear, the questions, and the long road back to strength.

Gareth in hospital following his heart failure diagnosis

Life changed overnight.

When Gareth was diagnosed with heart failure and an ejection fraction of just 15%, our lives changed overnight. Like so many others, we were faced with fear, uncertainty and countless questions about what the future would hold.

Together, we began a journey of learning, adapting and rebuilding. Gareth experienced the physical and emotional challenges of heart failure first-hand, while Katrina supported him as his wife and carer, drawing on her professional experience as a clinical hypnotherapist and holistic practitioner.

Today, Gareth's heart function has returned to within the normal ejection fraction range. Together we've created From Diagnosis to Strength to share what we've learned, provide the support we wish we'd had, and help others move forward with greater knowledge, confidence and hope.

Our philosophy

Heart failure may be part of your story. It doesn't have to define the rest of it.

We believe that living with heart failure is about more than medication and medical appointments. It's about understanding your condition, rebuilding confidence and learning how to live well again.

Our approach combines lived experience, practical guidance, emotional wellbeing and ongoing support. We focus on small, sustainable changes that help you feel more informed, empowered and confident in moving forward.

Meet Gareth

From 15% to strength, one step at a time.

After being diagnosed with heart failure and an ejection fraction of just 15%, Gareth knows first-hand the fear, uncertainty and challenges that come with a life-changing diagnosis.

Through his own journey from diagnosis to recovery, he discovered the importance of understanding his condition, making sustainable lifestyle changes and rebuilding confidence one step at a time. Today, Gareth brings lived experience, honesty and practical support to help others see that a heart failure diagnosis doesn't have to define their future.

The mind, the body, and the carer's view.

As a clinical hypnotherapist and holistic practitioner, Katrina understands the powerful connection between the mind and body. But when Gareth was diagnosed with heart failure, she also experienced the journey from the perspective of a partner and carer.

Combining her professional experience with everything they learned through Gareth's recovery, Katrina helps members manage the fear, anxiety and emotional challenges that can follow a heart failure diagnosis, while supporting them to rebuild confidence, create positive habits and move forward with greater hope and resilience.
